Publisher's Trust Statement
Our mission at Wise Publishing is to empower our readers with the knowledge and tools necessary to make wise financial decisions. To do this, as publishers, we follow the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Code of Ethics and the Canadian Association of Journalists ethics guidelines.
Rather than restate those policies, we thought it more useful to you, the reader, to understand how we incorporate those standards to ensure trust.
To achieve our mission, you need ot be able to trust what you read. We ensure this trustworthiness by:
- providing accurate information, using only credible sources, fact checking and presenting information impartially;
- being transparent in everything we do, from ensuring all quotations are precise and attributed, citing our sources in articles and clearly labeling any information that is an advertisement;
- using discipline and rigour to provide you with valuable comparison tools powered by a robust review methodology;
- and remaining independent and avoiding conflict of interest by providing reviews that are based solely on methodology and without partner influence and by prohibiting any gift giving or other forms of influence. We do not give favoured treatment to advertisers and special interests.
About AI: To keep up with the ever increasing pace of change in the world, and to ensure the most timely reporting, we sometimes use AI as an inspiration or efficiency tool. We still apply all of the standards outlined above, most notably ensuring all information that makes it to publication is fact checked and properly sourced. We also include a special note if the end product is predominantly written by AI.
